Dale A. Weiler

Dale A. Weiler, 93, of Charles City, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Manner Care in Waterloo.

Funeral services for Dale Weiler will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church in Charles City. Pastor Phil Corr will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.

Dale Alton Weiler was born September, 18, 1914, at Arlington, the son of Jess and Jessie (Thompson) Weiler. He graduated from the Charles City High School. On January 14, 1939 he was united in marriage to Theresa Eckoff in Waterloo. Theresa died in 1973. He later married Leda Hennick Galloway on October 19, 1974, at the First Congregational Church in Charles City. Leda died in 2001. Along with farming Dale retired from White / Oliver Farm after 37 years as a tool and die maker. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Knights of Pythias, and the U.A.W. His interests included current events, playing cards, listening to music, traveling, farming, his membeship in the Knights of Pythias and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Living family members include his daughter, Karla (Don) Hartman of Evensdale; two grandchildren, Marie (Doug) Frenz of Fort Madison and Russell (Ronda) Boekemeier of Rockford; three great grandchildren, Anthony and Stephanie Frenz and Curtis Boekemeier; two nieces, Sandra Figi of Waterloo and Sandra Stoeber of Calif.; and four nephews, Jan Figi of Westgate, Alan Fluhrer of Calif., Gary Fluhrer of Seattle, Wash. and Randy Stoeber of Calif.

Proceeded in death by his parents; two wives; and one sister, Geraldine, Figi.
