Velma Pint

Velma Pint, 87, of Charles City, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at her home.

Funeral services for Velma Pint will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bethany Alliance Church. Pastor Kent Sovine will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Velma Irene Conaway Pint was born December 9, 1920, at Perry, the daughter of Lawrence "Dick" and Esther (Bales) Conaway. She graduated from the Perry High School in 1936. On May 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to Leo Pint at Sioux Falls, S.D. They lived and worked in Charles City all of their lives. Leo died on November 6, 2005. Velma was a member of Bethany Alliance Church and the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. Her interests included making ceramics, camping, fishing, and working with her flowers. Velma will be remembered for her ministering to the needs of others in a variety of ways. Her grandchildren were always very special to Velma and she looked forward to sharing their lives together.

Living family members include four children, Leonard (Edna) Gottschalk of Phoenix, Ariz., Larry (Nancy) Pint of Manchester, Daryl (Dawn) Pint of Waverly and Cherie (Greg) Stough of Charles City; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Mahlon (Donna) Conaway of
Perry. She will also be missed by her cat Katie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant grandsons; and a brother, Lawrence Conaway.
