Viola Todd

Viola Todd, 98, of Charles City, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Graveside services for Viola Todd will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. Pastor Gary Van Wert of the Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.

Viola Todd was born March 29, 1910, at Fredericksburg, the daughter of Christian and Edith (Aikin) Gitsch. She graduated from the Charles City High School in 1929. On September 5, 1936, she was united in Marriage to Eldon G. Todd at Galena, Ill. Viola was employed for several years at the Bell Telephone Company as an operator. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, numerous Bridge Clubs and the McKinley Home Crafts. Her interests included playing cards, knitting and crocheting.

Living family members include her son, Mike Todd of Kansas City, Mo.; and granddaughter, Kathryn Todd of Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sheryl Ann; and granddaughter, Mary.
