Rosemary R. Schinnow

Rosemary R. Schinnow, 74, of Charles City, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Memorial services for Rosemary Schinnow will be held at a later date.

Rosemary Ruth Barth Schinnow was born May 29, 1934, in rural Floyd County, the daughter of Gale and Thelma (Waid) Barth. She graduated from the Greene High School. After high school married Ronald J. Osier, they later divorced. On September 25, 1978, she was united in marriage to Herbert W. Schinnow at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She retired from White Farm Equipment Company after 30 years as the Benefit Administrator. Rosemary was very dedicated in helping White Farm employees receive their pension benefits at the time of the company‚s closing. She was so dedicated to their needs that she continued working with employees even after she retired. Rosemary was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Society of Mayflower Descendants and life member of the Floyd County Historical Society. Her interests included genealogy, crossword puzzles, hand crafts, reading, flowers and plants.

Living family members include her husband, Herb Schinnow of Charles City; two sons, Mike Osier of Orlando, Fla. and Chris (LeAnn) Osier of Chariton; two step-children, Gene Schinnow of Joice and Laura Schinnow (Ronald Palumbo) of Ames; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Stephanie, Robin, Elizabeth, Jordan, Michael, Tracy, Valorie and Stephanie; four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Justin, Nathan and Allison; one great-great grandson, James; two brothers, Dan (Marjorie) Barth of Greene and James (Beverly) Barth of Mankato, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-son Terry Schinnow.
