Elizabeth (Betty) Schwab

Elizabeth (Betty) Schwab, 64, of Charles City, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Main Street South, in Charles City, with Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, December 19 at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street, Charles City. Betty will be cremated following the visitation. Burial of ashes will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City following the service. Betty was born on May 12, 1944 in Osage, the daughter of Robert and Bernadine (Wagner) Lence. She lived in Charles City since the age of 10, graduating from Charles City High School. She was united in marriage to Charles Schwab on August 29, 1986. Betty retired from White Farm as a manager in 1993 after 28 years of service. She enjoyed her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gordon Mead of Charles City, Daniel Mead of Greene, and Angela Tonilli of Charles City; sisters, Anita Goetsch, Kathleen Rademacher and Diane Vance; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, in 2001.
