Jewel Colsen, 48, of Floyd, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services for Jewel Colsen will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Robert Holdorf, of the Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday an hour prior to the service.
Jewel Beth Colsen was born July 23, 1960, in Charles City, the daughter of John and Nancy (Smith) Ransom. She graduated from the Charles City High School in 1978. Jewel Marries Richard Selvig and they later divorced. On January 2, 2009, she married Gary Colsen. Most recently Jewel was a bookkeeper at Anthony Bill Trucking in Charles City. Her interests included gardening, crosstiching, working word games and enjoying a good cup of coffee with her best friend.
Living family members include her husband, Gary Colsen of Floyd; three children, Amy Selvig of Waterloo, Ben Selvig of Chicago and Cassandra Selvig of Charles City; a step daughter, Toni Sambursky of Fort Worth, Tex.; four step grandchildren; her mother, Nancy Rosonke of Floyd; a brother, Billy Bobbi Ransom of Albert Lea, Minn.; and three sisters, Crystal (Tim) Fairlie of Cedar Rapids, Sonya (David) Boisier of Cedar Rapids, and Amber (Michael) Franklin of Albernette.
She was preceded in death by a nephew, Tommy Boisier.
