Michael Ritter

Michael Ritter, 58, of Charles City, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services for Michael Ritter will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Kent Sovine of the Bethany Alliance Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

The family will greet friends at the Hauser Funeral Home an hour prior to the service.

Michael Dennis Ritter was born February 5, 1951, in Mason City, the son of Kenneth and Betty (Drher) Ritter. He received his education at Hayward, Calif. Michael served in the United States Marines during the Viet Nam era. On November 7, 1984, he was united in marriage to Carla Johns. Michael worked for Alexander Batteries for ten years and also at the Mason City fairgrounds. His interests included fishing, model car making, and riding motorcycles. Michael took special interest in his grandchildren and enjoyed taking time to spend with them.

Living family members include his wife, Carla Ritter of Charles City; four children, Michelle Ritter of Moorhead, Minn., Michael (Jessica) Fingalsen, Starla Ritter and Sherry Ritter all of Charles City; six grandchildren, Destiny and Cory Fingalsen, Taia and Micah Hillhouse, Maliki Ritter, and a grandson on the way; a brother, Robert Ritter of Charles City; and two sisters, Debbie and Bonnie Ritter of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
