Mary Elizabeth Teschner

Mary Elizabeth Teschner, 89, formerly of Mason City and Rockford, died Tuesday night, September 9, 2009 at the Touch of Home Assisted Living Center in Tomah, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 North Delaware, Mason City. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Lavrenz. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Friday at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd ST. SE, Mason City. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Iowa at 1:15 pm. Mary was born on May 20, 1920 in Rockford, Iowa the daughter of Stanley Leon and Myrtle Pearl (Brown) Ruggles. She graduated from Rockford High School and Hamilton Business College in Mason City. She was engaged as a secretary for the Rationing Board in Charles City and then as secretary/bookkeeper at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Upon moving back to the area she worked for the state of Iowa in the department of Vocational Rehabilitation in Mason City until her retirement in 1969. She was an accomplished pianist and shared her talent with the Rockford United Methodist Church and the Naomi Woman’s Circle of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was a member. She also served as the secretary of the Rockford Woman’s Club. She loved to bake pies and cakes, tending her flower gardens, and traveling. Her trips took her to Europe and Hawaii, also taking several bus trips and taking the Amtrak train out West.
Those thankful in sharing Mary’s life include her loving husband Edmund of 26 years, Tomah, WI, her three children Judith R. DuFault, Davenport, IA; Elizabeth (Libby) L. and her fiancé Leland Amaral, of Sparta, WI; Stanley D. and Mary Sherbino, of Winner, South Dakota; her blended children Linda Teschner, Merrill, WI; Peggy and her husband Rick Gremler, Brokaw, WI; Daniel Teschner, Wautoma, WI; Thomas and his wife Julie Teschner, Gleason, WI; and William Teschner, Merrill, WI; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Her parents, two infant sisters, one infant son and one grandson Chad Teschner preceded Mary in death.
