Dale W. Cummings, 95, of Charles City, died Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2009, at Cedar Health in Charles City.
Funeral services for Dale Cummings will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Norman Bauer of the Calmar Lutheran Church in Calmar will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time.
Dale William Cummings was born May 2, 1914, at Bassett, the son of Jesse and Pearl (Bonsall) Cummings. He graduated from the Colwell High School in 1933. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Manning. Dale was employed at Hart Par/Oliver Corporation for 44 years as a machine operator and assembly person. He was a member of the NRA, Floyd Gun Club and Floyd Lions Club where he served as past president. His interests included trap shooting, hunting, fishing and work.
Living family members include his two daughters, Sharon (Edgar) Immer of Burnsville, Minn. and Kathy (Steven) Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.; two step-daughters, Beverly (George) Pospisil of Lisbon and Sharon (Richard) Hill of Angel Fire, N.M.; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Manning of Charles City; sister-in-law, Wanda Cummings of Charles City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Maxine Bauer; and two brothers, Donald and Lester Cummings.
