Evelyn B. Schrage

Evelyn B. Schrage, 66, of Charles City, died Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.
Funeral services for Evelyn Schrage will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. Pastor Patricia Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday where there will be a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour before the service at the church on Friday.
Evelyn Beryl Gerber was born December 29, 1943, at Austin, Minn., the daughter of Evert and Christine Beryl (Thompson) Gerber. She graduated from the Rockford High School and the La’ James Beauty School. On November 4, 1962, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Schrage at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage. Evelyn was employed at several area nursing homes as a dietary supervisor and then at Mercy as billing technician. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford and Ruth Circle at church. Her interests included gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, shopping and attending her grandchildren’s events.
Living family members include her four daughters, Carmen (Bill) Staudt of Rockford, Lisa Lines of Rockford, Judy (Steve) DeGraw of Sheffield and Suzanne (Brian) Ross of Charles City; 12 grandchildren, Alisha, Nate and Nicholas Staudt, Chris, Kyle and Cole Lines, Josh, Mackenzie and Kristina DeGraw and Macy, Madison and Brianna Ross; sister, Marlene Johnson of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
