Laura Boggess

Laura Boggess, 70, of Charles City, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
Funeral services for Laura Boggess will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church. Pastor Rick Fessel will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 12:30 until service time at the church on Tuesday.
Laura Jean Timmons Boggess was born May 22, 1939, in Floyd County, the daughter of Jesse and Bernice (Jones) Timmons. She attended Charles City High School and later received her GED. On June 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Earl Boggess. Laura accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior after listening to Back to the Bible. This made a profound change in her life. She was always concerned about her family’s salvation and relationship to Christ. Laura was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Her interest in others was made evident by her cooking for them at various times and sending greeting cards. Laura’s family was always important to her and she took every opportunity to share her life, love and Savior with them.
Living family members include her husband, Earl Boggess of Charles City; four children, LeRoy (Kellie Ann) Boggess of Charles City, Rod (Sharon) Boggess and Jeri (Dan) Marzen both of Grinnell, and Rick (Deane) Boggess of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a sister, Myrna (Darryl) Sletten of Charles City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Sherrry Marzen; and a brother, Russell Timmons.
