Amanda Gray

Amanda Gray, 101, of Charles City, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Funeral services for Amanda Gray will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor David Werges will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church an hour prior to the service.
Amanda Catherine Howe Gray was born April 25, 1908, at Charles City, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Harnisch) Howe. She graduated from the Charles City High School. Amanda married Frank Gray and they later separated. For many years she worked at the Oliver Corporation. Amanda was a member of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church where she had sung in the choir. Her interests included reading the Bible and cooking.
Living family members include three children, Dorothy Hadley of Charles City, Ronald Gray of Big Lake, Minn. and Raymond (Gerri) Gray of Littleton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a great grandson; a sister, Lenora Webber; a brother, Marvin Howe; and a son-in-law, Charles Hadley.
