Janet Trainer

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Janet Trainer, 59, of Charles City, died Monday, August 20, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services for Janet Trainer will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Paul Phillips of the Gospel Lighthouse will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday an hour prior to the service.

Janet Jane Trainer was born December 9, 1947, at Charles City, the daughter of Emil and Eileen (Paulus) Zimmerman. She graduated from the Charles City High School in 1966. Janet married Richard Shave in January of 1967 and to this union a son Darren was born. They later divorced. On May 1, 1987, she was united in marriage to Thomas Trainer at Brunswick, Maine. Janet worked for a number of years at the White Farm Equipment Company. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse. Her interests included reading, roller skating, photography and scrap booking. 

Living family members include her husband, Thomas Trainer of Charles City; four children, Darren Shave and his special friend Anita Caruth of Mason City, Cory (Nicole) Trainer of Lewiston, Maine, Tod (Shelia) Trainer of Schuyler, Nebr., and Holly Trainer of Parachute, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Michael, Allysa, Jayme and Katlyn Trainer, Lyndsay, Robert and Justin Frazer, and Joseph and Celeste Trainer; her mother, Eileen Zimmerman at Port Charles in Charles City; and a sister, Nancy (Glen "Pudge") Springer of Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her father.
