Patricia "Pat" Mallaro

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Patricia "Pat" Mallaro, 69, of Charles City, died Friday, February 1, 2008, at her home. Pat had suffered from Pulmonary Hypertension since 2003.

A funeral Mass for Pat Mallaro will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor Stanley Hayek will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Patricia Ann Gray Mallaro was born October 1, 1938, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Leon and Anne (McDonough) Gray. She graduated in 1956 from Saint Edmond‚s High School in Fort Dodge and attended Saint Mary‚s College in Omaha, Nebr. On September 5, 1959, she was united in marriage to Dan Mallaro at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Dodge. In 1962 they moved to Charles City. Pat worked for 21 years as the secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Saint Michael‚s Circle and PEO Chapter CY. Pat also volunteered as a „Pink Lady‰ with the Floyd County Auxiliary Group and had served on the board of Hospice of North Iowa. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, socializing and was a member of a number of card groups.

Living family members include her husband, Dan Mallaro of Charles City; three children, Brian (Rose) Mallaro of Medina, Minn., Mike (Traci) Mallaro of Cedar Falls and Karen (Brian) Yusko of Shaker Heights, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, Jack, Kara, Hannah, Sophie, Kendall and Ava Mallaro, and Helen, Sam and Bridget Yusko; two brothers, Bob (Polly) Gray of Fort Dodge and Don Gray of Augusta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Sue Keiler of Lakeland, Fla.; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Mallaro of Fort Dodge and Tom Mallaro of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jim Gray.
