Lenore Huber

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Lenore Huber, 81, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Charles City, died Sunday evening, January 6, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

A funeral Mass for Lenore Huber will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. The Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

The family will greet friends an hour before the Mass at the church on Thursday.

Lenore Marie (Nack) Huber was born August 1, 1926, in Dubuque, the daughter of Louis A. and Helen (Waldron) Nack. She grew up in Galena, Ill., graduated from St. Mary‚s in Prairie du Chien, Wis. and the University of Michigan. Lenore married Dr. Robert Huber on September 18, 1949. The couple resided in Osage and Charles City. Lenore was especially fond of her entire family, including nieces and nephews. She had many dear friends that she treasured throughout the years. Hobbies and interests included reading, crossword puzzles, playing bridge and following current events.

Living family members include her children, Margaret (Garold) Zander of Denver, Iowa, Mary Huber of Cedar Falls, Robert (Christine Solso) of Bloomington, Minn., John (Ann) Huber of Darien, Ill., Laura Huber of Arlington, Mass. and Ellen Huber (Anthony Scott) of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Alicia Zander (Adolfo Valadez), Alex Finstein, Anne and Jane Huber, Kevin and Theresa Huber, and Will Scott. There is a foster-granddaughter, Brandy (Corey) Johnson, one great grand-child, Alejandro Valadez, and three foster-great grandchildren, Bryce, Lucy, and Clark Johnson. Surviving siblings include sister, Joan (Charles) Allen, of Sarasota, Fla, and brothers, Louis A. Nack, Jr. (Dolores) and James (Pat) Nack, both of Galena, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Richard G. Huber of Waban, Mass.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, a son, Joseph and granddaughter, Christa. Lenore was loved and respected by her family and will be sorely missed.
