Kirk D. Ackerson
NASHUA, Iowa - Kirk Douglas Ackerson, age 44 of Nashua, died at his home Tuesday evening July 17, 2007 of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 at the First Congregational Church in Nashua with Rev Robert Treichel officiating. Betty Orric will be the organist with Tonja Fisher singing “Precious Memories “ and “Friends”. Special music will be the song “Feed Jake”.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Nashua. Casket bearers will be Tim Fisher, Mark Brunner, Mitch Rosol, Jamie Welter, Rob Usher and Jeff Nordman.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Memorials may be directed to Kirk’s family. Online condolences for the Ackerson family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.com
Kirk Douglas Ackerson was born August 21, 1962, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Donald and Virginia (Fisher) Ackerson. He attended Nashua Elementary School and graduated from Nashua High School in 1980. He purchased his home and lived his entire life in Nashua
Kirk worked as a CNC operator for Unverferth Manufacturing Company Inc. of Shell Rock for 13 years. He was an avid sportsman. He loved walleye fishing and hunting of all kinds. Kirk spent many hours training his dog and honing his hunting skills. He also enjoyed golfing. Kirk was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Wild Turkey Federation and the Nashua Town & Country Club.
He is survived by his parents, Donald and Virginia (Ginny) Ackerson of Nashua; one brother, Kent (Sonja) Ackerson of Nashua; two sisters, Koreen ( Ken ) Ard of Browns Mills, NJ and Kris (Steve) Rosol of Waverly; ten nieces and nephews and four great-nieces.
Kirk was preceded in death by his grandparents.
