Leroy Milligan

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Leroy Milligan, 69, of Charles City, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

A funeral Mass for Leroy Milligan will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor Stanley Hayek will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday where a Vigil Scriptural Wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the service.

Leroy Dale Milligan was born October 19, 1937, in Floyd County, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Jensen) Milligan. He graduated from the Charles City High School in 1956. On October 14, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary „Kathleen‰ Devereux. Leroy had been employed at the Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company for 21 years and at American Woodcrafters Supply in Riceville for seven years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waterloo Woodcarving Club and the Whittlers and Liars Club. Leroy will be remembered for his love of Blue Grass music, woodcarving, and sharing the rewards of his trout fishing ventures. For years Leroy played Santa Claus for various groups and individuals.

Living family members include his wife Kathleen from Charles City; a brother, Wendell "Mike" (Clarice) Milligan of Charles City; three nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
