Norma Carr

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Norma Carr, 94, of Charles City, formerly of Floyd, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Cedar Health in Charles City.

Funeral services for Norma Carr will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Debra Lincoln of Jordan River will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Grant Township Cemetery at Fertile.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will continue at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

Norma Irene Iverson Carr was born October 12, 1913 at Joice, the daughter of George and Julia (Aasland) Iverson. She graduated from Clear Lake High School and attended Iowa State Teacher‚s College in Cedar Falls. On December 4, 1938, she was united in marriage to Cecil Carr at Albert Lea, Minn. They moved to this area in 1941. Cecil died on March 24, 1988. Norma taught school for three years in Worth County and worked in the United States Post Office for 34 years in Hanlontown and Floyd.  She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. 

Living family members include a brother, Maynard Iverson of Lake Mills; two nieces, Carol (Ed) Pelousky of Cross Plains, Wis. and Marsha (Blair) Hansen of Clive; and two nephews, Gary (Kathy) Iverson of Garden City, Minn. and David (Rowena) Iverson of Woodstock, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Lester and Jermit Iverson; and a niece, Kay Iverson.
