Virgil "Bud" Sullivan

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Virgil "Bud" Sullivan, 71, of Manly, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Funeral services for Bud Sullivan will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Phil Corr of the First Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Virgil Francis Sullivan was born March 2, 1936 at Novinger, Mo. the son of John Dee and Susan (Cambell) Sullivan. On April 16, 1957 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Dawson in Austin, Minn. He was employed at Sedar‚s Pontiac in Mason City for 19 years, Mason City Datson for 14 years, IMI for 7 years and several other places through out the years. His interests included playing pool, scratch tickets, watching westerns, and coaching Little League Baseball. Bud will always be remembered as having a wonderful sense of humor and always making people feel loved.

Living family members include his wife, Cheryl Sullivan of Manly; four children, Steve (Theresa) Sullivan of Charles City, Dan (Rhonda) Sullivan of Forest City, Cheri Dee Tatro of Fort Collins, Colo., and Marc (Ashley) Sullivan of Osage; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a nephew and best friend, Bob Rowe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 24 siblings.
