Kayak Rodeo poll

Results from CharlesCity365.com poll
One element of the I.C. ball field river front renovation project is adding a kayak rodeo course on the Cedar River. Natural rock obstacles would be added to the river to create a course where kayakers would be drawn to the river. Do you think this is a viable project that will bring tourists to Charles City and increase the quality of life in the area?

I'm from a city of 50,000 out west which has a huge kayaking community and there are tons of beautiful rivers to use but I wouldn't call kayaking a reason people come to the area.

This money would be better spent on things like health care and education. The last thing C.C. needs is a kayak rodeo course.

No i think it is a bad idea because that is where i go fishing all the time and that would ruin that in a heart beat. If you ask me put the money towards the (expletive deleted) roads if you ask me.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. I've never even thought about kayking before, but YEAH! I'm in!! (C.C. resident}

what! Please! Put any and all addtional funds to our bike trail it is a Proven asset that everyone of all ages with no special training or equiment can use. I think I need to sell a cow pie throwing course to our city too and make a couple of easy bucks from the suckers!

This is a great idea! The kayak is really catching on in this area. Those who would be against this will be the first in line to sit and watch the kayaks in action.

will give 1 more reason to stay in town, with something more to do,good idea lets see if it will be a go.

There are not really that many kayaks out in this area. More canoes. I believe branches and debris will just get caught on the obstacles and it won't work well at that point in the river. Fix up the park and leave the river alone.

Sounds like something worth trying. Doubt you'd get many/any new residents soley because of it though. But definatley could add to the picture as a whole.

sorta not a popular sport.

maybe will help drawn in people also keep people in town to enjoyonly thing is all the fishing tackle that is that area,form snags
